Trump demands LeBron James apologize over national anthem
Trump demanded an apology from LeBron James after video showed the Sixers star moving during the national anthem before the Knicks game. President Donald Trump has demanded an apology from LeBron James, the Philadelphia 76ers forward, after sharing a video of him swinging his arms during the national anthem before the team's season opener against the New York Knicks. The video was part of James' preparation for his first regular-season home game with Philadelphia, having joined the Sixers over the summer. However, the video does not indicate that James intended his actions as a protest or political statement. Trump shared the video with his own criticism on Truth Social, stating that James owes an apology to Americans who have died for the flag and country. He had previously taken a personal swipe at James when the player's move to Philadelphia was announced.
