Borough officials said the new red carts are for recycling only and were delivered over a weekend recently for immediate use. Anyone who didn't get a cart should contact J.P. Mascaro & Sons directly at 888-627-2276.
Borough officials said residents should continue using the old containers until they get the new one. The old carts can also still be used along with the new cart. Residents can also put it out next trash pickup with a note that says, "Please take this old recycling cart."
Meanwhile, in other waste matters, borough officials offered a reminder about grass clippings with the warmer weather and summer months approaching. "With grass cutting season, please remember to be considerate and take care of your property," officials said.
The International Property Maintenance Code, Section 302.4, states that "all premises and exterior property shall be maintained free from weeds or plant growth in excess of 10 inches." Please keep up with your grass-cutting duties. Additionally, it is illegal and dangerous to throw, blow, or leave grass clippings in the street under state law.
